How to Make

  1. Fold a piece of A4 card in half.
  2. Place your hand onto the card, making sure your wrist is towards the folded edge.
  3. Draw around your hand and cut it out using scissors.
  4. Decorate the outside of the card with heart glitter foam stickers, spelling ‘love’ on the fingertips.
  5. For the spring, cut two strips of coloured paper (9cm in length by 1cm width).
  6. Lay down the two strips to create a right angle, one strip will be vertical and one horizontal. Stick the pieces together where they meet at the bottom.
  7. Fold each strip of paper alternately until you get to the end.
  8. Cut out 2 hearts from card, one smaller than the other and stick the smaller heart onto the larger heart using double-sided tape. Layer a heart glitter foam sticker on top. Make sure that these hearts are smaller than the palm of the hand so that it doesn’t stick out either side of the card.
  9. Stick the layered hearts to one end of the spring and then stick the spring to the inside of the hand card.
  10. Lastly, cut out a rounded rectangle that fits in the palm of the hand. In black pen write ‘To someone special or Happy Valentine’s Day!’. Stick the message inside the hand card, on the opposite hand to the spring heart.
