How to Make
- Paint the canvas black.
- Twist the ends of two pink pipe-cleaners together to make a double-length pipe-cleaner.
- Use the French knitting guide to cast on and knit 3 rows with pink wool. Then insert the double-length pipe-cleaner and continue knitting. Pull the end down regularly as you knit to pull the pipe-cleaner inside the strand, then cast off when it is fully encased. Pull the loose ends inside the strand with a needle to hide them.
- Repeat step 3 with a single-length pipe-cleaner.
- Print off the template as a guide and shape your word and your heart. Sew together at any points that meet to secure the shape.
- Use Super Tacky Glue to stick your word and heart to the canvas. Allow to dry thoroughly.
Top Tip
Regularly pull the tail of the French knitting cord to feed the pipe cleaner down through the strand of French knitting.
