This craft activity can help a child recognise and regulate a feeling and be used to help bring down the temperature of heightened emotions visually.

How to Make

  1. Paint a canvas with light blue paint and let dry.
  2. Print out the thermometer and cut strips of coloured card to match the guide.
  3. Stick them onto the thermometer and cut them into the shape.
  4. Outline this with black deco pen
  5. Stick the thermometer and the guide onto the canvas.
  6. Stick Velcro dots on each colour and one on the arrow
  7. Use sticky letters to create a title.

Top Tip

When measuring the strips make sure that they line up with the guide.
