How to Make

  1. Roll the clay into a 1cm slab and using an empty mug as a reference, imprint the mug into the clay slab, then cut the shape with a clay tool.
  2. Roll out a thin, long piece of clay with he same thickness through out and form it into a spiral. This will sit in the middle of your coaster.
  3. Next create circles to go around the spiral, building them up till the surface is covered.
  4. Allow your bowl to dry for 1-2 days – it will turn white when fully dried.
  5. To paint an ombrè effect, take a colour and paint around the edges of the coaster. You need to work fast. Then taking a lighter hue of the same colour blend the darker colour into the lighter colour creating a seamless blend.
  6. Allow to dry over night and finish your project with our brush-on varnish for a glossy finish.
