How to Make

  1. Using the templates provided, trace around circle 1 onto a piece of white card and cut out carefully.
  2. In the centre of the circle, draw a line to divide it into two sections. Colour the bottom section green and the top section blue. Then draw a house and a fence, as shown. Children can add flowers and draw a stick figure, then annotate it with ‘My House’.
  3. Add a coloured border to finish off Circle 1, then take the second piece of white card and trace Circle 2 onto it. Colour with a red pencil and draw on a border, as shown.
  4. Line Circle 1 up centrally over Circle 2, so that the outer border of Circle 2 is showing, then stick in place with glue dots. Position the circles so that the house is upright, then ask children to write the name of their street and ‘my town’ along the border, as shown.
  5. When complete, trace and cut out Circle 3. Line up as before and stick in place, so its outer rim is visible around the outside of Circle 2. Ask children to colour and write on the name of their county, as shown.
  6. Continue in this way until you have also layered up country. You can add extra doodles, drawings or stickers to each layer if you wish.

Top Tip

Don’t worry if the circles aren’t perfectly round if you’re cutting them out free-hand, once they’re stacked together it won’t be noticeable and will add to its charm!
