Alphabet Matching Game

This simple craft project can help children learn their alphabet as well as upper and lowercase letters. Turning the lesson into a fun game – something that can be played alone or in groups – will encourage children to spend more time on the activity.

How to Make

  1. Cut 52 tiles from coloured foam, ensuring they are the same shape and size and that both your uppercase and lowercase letter stickers will fit on them.
  2. Take 26 of the tiles and stick one lowercase letter of the alphabet centrally on each tile. Put these to one side.
  3. Stick one lowercase letter of the alphabet centrally on each of the remaining tiles. You should now have two full alphabet sequences, one made up of lowercase letters and one made up of uppercase letters.

Top Tip

Keep the colour of the tiles the same for both sets of alphabet tiles so it doesn’t distract from the letters themselves
