Seaside Spy Bottle

How to Make

1. Fill your bottle with dry rice leaving 4 cm at the top.
2. Tip this rice onto two trays in equal piles.
3. Add 5 drops of food colouring into each pile, I chose blue and yellow but you can use any colours
4. Wear disposable gloves to protect your hands or use a spoon to mix the colour throughout the rice.
5. Once the rice is fully dry, mix the coloured grains together and fill your bottle.
6. Now take your mini seaside beads and sort out sets of different coloured shapes and sea creatures so that there is only one of each item in your bottle, don’t forget to write down every item you put into your bottle so that you know what to look for later.
7. Take your alphabet beads and sort out one full set of the alphabet A-Z
8. Add your letters and beads to the bottle and give it a good shake.
9. Now use your list to try and re-find all the shapes that are in the bottle.

Top Tip

To make this into a game between two friends use a timer to see who can find the whole alphabet in the correct order quickest.
