Star Constellations

Encourage children to look at the night sky by creating some glittery constellations and learning about the galaxy we live in!  In the past, constellations were used to help with navigation.

How to Make

  1. Find a constellation image to copy for your design. Arrange some glitter stars onto A3 black card so they are roughly in the right positions. Move the stars if they need adjusting to make the correct shape. Peel off the backing paper then stick the stars onto the background.
  2. Lightly rule a pencil line between the stars to join them up. Use a metallic pen to draw dotted lines over the pencil. Leave to dry.
  3. Add the name of the constellation to the background in glitter foam letters
  4. Rub off any pencil lines if they are visible. Add some smaller-sized stars as decoration.
