How to Make
- Paint a wooden banner blue. Leave to dry then add another coat so the banner is evenly covered. Leave to dry.
- Measure and cut out some card strips, 2cm wide for the letters. Trim the strips into smaller pieces, with a curved piece for the D. Glue the pieces together and leave to dry.
- To print the flower patterns, lightly sponge some paint onto a wooden flower then press it onto one of the card letters. Carefully lift up the flower then repeat to make more prints using different paint colours. Leave to dry.
- Place a doily over the wooden banner to stencil the background. Lightly sponge paint through the doily holes, carefully lift it up then re-position it to make more patterns in the same way using different colours. Leave to dry.
- Glue the EID letters onto the banner with wooden flowers around the edge. Thread the holes at the top with twine.
Top Tip
To save painting extra wooden letters as decoration for the banner, re-use the wooden flowers from printing.
