How to Make

  1. Unscrew the lid from a jar. Place the jar onto some scrap paper then brush over the outside with glass paint. Apply the paint smoothly and evenly using the brush to remove any drips. Leave to dry naturally.
  2. Cut some strips of gem ribbons to fit around the jar, either vertically in 9cm strips down the side of the jar or a 25cm strip to fit around the middle. Cut strips of patterned gem tapes to add more decoration onto the jar.
  3. Wrap a piece of 50cm wire twice around the neck of the jar and twist the ends together. For the jar handle, measure an 80cm length of coloured wire. Fold it in half and in half again then twist along the whole length to make it thicker. Push the ends of the handle under the wire around the neck of the jar then twist the ends fix it securely in place.
  4. Cut a 22cm gem ribbon strip. Trim along one edge to make it thinner with 4 gems across the width then stick it around the neck of the jar to cover the wire. Add an LED tea light or string lights inside the jar.
