How to Make

  1. Take a purple paper plate and cover the front of it in blue paint. Leave to dry and add another coat if needed.
  2. Take another paper plate and turn it upside down. Then cover the back of the plate in green paint. Leave to dry and paint another coat if needed.
  3. Once dry, cut the bottom third off of the green plate in a zig zag pattern so that it looks like grass. Then stick this to the blue paint using either double sided tape or glue, making sure you leave the bottom section open.
  4. Create a butterfly from coloured card by cutting out a butterfly shape with one colour, and the body shape with another, and sticking the body to the butterfly.
  5. Stick two blue coloured sticks together at the ends, then stick the butterfly to the top of the stick. Repeat this process to create another butterfly.
  6. Stick some felt flowers to the grass section of the paper plate.
  7. Push the sticks down through the gap at the bottom of the grass, then hold them at the bot-tom to move the butterflies in the scene.
