How to Make

  1. Use the pencil & ruler to mark out a rectangle 6cm x 8cm on to a sheet of white felt and cut out. Use the scissors to cut away two corners on the short end to create the gift tag shape.
  2. With the pencil lightly mark out the recipients initials or personal message into the centre of the white felt.
  3. Thread an embroidery needle with a length of red embroidery cotton and begin stitching the initial or phrase. Work in small neat backstitches to create a solid line of stitching.
  4. Use the pencil & ruler to mark out a rectangle 6.5cm x 8.8cm on to a sheet of red felt and cut out. Use the scissors to cut away two corners on the short end to create the gift tag shape. This shape will be approximate 2,5mm larger than the white gift tag.
  5. Centre the white felt gift tag onto the red felt gift tag ensuring the border is neat and even around the edges and pin in place.
  6. Thread an embroidery needle with a length of red embroidery cotton and begin stitching around the edge of the white felt gift tag to secure it to the red felt gift tag. Work in small neat running to create an even stitched border.
  7. Use the scissors to cut a small hole in the top of the tag and trim a length of ribbon to 30cm. Fold in half and feed through the hole in the tag, catch the ribbon ends through the loop to anchor it to the gift tag. Knot the ribbon ends neatly to finish.
