How to Make

  1. Remove the lid from a square box. Brush metallic paint over the lid and lower section of the box. Leave to dry then add a second coat if necessary. Paint inside both sections of the box and leave to dry.
  2. To decorate the lid, cut out a simple shape from a self-adhesive felt sheet like a circle, square or teardrop. Peel off the backing then stick it onto the lid. Stick small coloured jewels around the edge of the felt shape with a large gem in the middle.
  3. Decorate around the lid or the lower box section with ribbon and strips of jewels. Use double-sided tape to stick ribbon onto the box.
  4. Optional – to make a stand-up flame for the box, draw a simple leaf-shaped outline, approximately 6cm x 3cm, onto the reverse side of some gold glitter card, cut it out then fold the bottom 1cm forwards. Cut a small piece of self-adhesive felt for the middle then stick it onto the glittery flame with small gems around the edge. Squeeze glue onto the folded section at the bottom of the flame then stick it to the underside edge of the lid. Before the glue dries, check the flame can stand upright then press firmly so it stays in place. Leave to dry.
