How to Make

  1. Thread the beads onto a pipe cleaners, alternating the colours. Make sure there is a gap on each end of approximately 1 inch.
  2. Bend the pipe cleaner into a circle and twist the two ends together, making sure you leave a small gap so that you can still move the beads.
  3. Find the central point and move the beads apart to make a small gap, then twist the circle in the centre to make two wings.
  4. Repeat steps 1-3 to create another pair of wings.
  5. Hold the two pipe cleaner wings together so that the centre of each is touching, then use another pipe cleaner and wrap it around to hold them together.
  6. Cut a pipe cleaner in half and then fold one in half. Bend the tops of the two points over to create the antenna.
  7. Take one more pipe cleaner and use it to attach the antenna to the top of the butterfly’s body by wrapping it around the existing pipe cleaner.
  8. Take a piece of wool and thread it underneath the top of the pipe cleaner that is the butter-fly’s body. Then tie the ends of the wool in a double knot creating a loop for the butterfly to hang from.
