How to Make
- Use a pencil to carefully mark out the word, phrase or doodle that will form the 3D piece of your design onto the canvas.
- Allow the glue gun to heat up fully and begin carefully working over the outline of the letters or words. Work slowly and steadily over the letters to create even lines of glue. Once the word has been outlined in glue set aside to dry fully.
- Create the ombre effect by using the darkest colours of paint at the bottom, mixing with white and then blending up the front of the canvas using the lightest one. For a professional finish, paint around the sides of the canvas extending the ombre over the sides, so there are no unpainted surfaces remaining. Allow to dry fully before hanging.
Top Tip
Try practising writing with the glue gun on scrap paper before starting on the canvas. Maintain speed and pressure to make it easier.
